Short Description:

An intermittent catheter is a medical device used to empty the bladder when a patient is unable to do so naturally. It collects urine from the bladder and leads to a drainage bag and catheters come in sizes from 6Fr. To 22 Fr., and features of straight and Coude tips, and pediatric, female, or universal lengths. X-line available for option. It is relatively easy to use, most people are able to catheterize themselves. Intermittent catheterization involves inserting and removing the catheter several times a day and eliminates the need to wear a continuously draining catheter, reduces the risk of distended bladder or a urinary tract infection, frees patients up for a more active lifestyle.
